John began his postal career on February 23, 1974
when he was assigned to the Dominick Daniels Mail Processing Facility in Kearney, NJ. In 1976, he was transferred
to the New York Bulk and Foreign Mail Center. Four years later he transferred to the Secaucus Post Office as a letter carrier
and accepted the position of shop steward.
Since 1980 John has been a union activist involved with legislation,
COLCPE and contract enforcement. During his thirty-five years with the Postal Service he has held various positions with the
NALC including Shop Steward, Route Inspection Team Coordinator, Dispute Resolution Team Member, and Arbitration Advocate.
In 2003, John was appointed Corresponding Secretary for Branch 38 by President Robert Borgognoni. He was
later elected to that same position, the position he now holds. John is also the Area Representative for 29 Branch 38 offices
in the northern part of the state, representing 630 members.
John also holds a Bachelor of Arts
Degree from Jersey City State College. He has been married to his wife Rose since 1984, and they have three children; Koren,
John, and Julia.
