 PETE MAGLIO

BRANCH 38 PRESIDENT

Biography

Pete served in the US Army from November 1966 through November 1968.  He began his postal career as a city letter carrier at the Orange Post Office in January 1969.

In 1980, Pete was elected to the office of President of Branch 624, Orange, NJ.  This was a merged branch that included the towns of West Orange, Livingston, Short Hills, Roseland, Caldwell and Essex Fells.

Pete was elected to the Executive Board of the NJ State Association of Letter Carriers in 1981. He served as board member for several years and was eventually elected to the position of First Vice President.  Pete served in that capacity until May of 2000.

In 1990 Branch 624 merged with Branch 38. At that time Pete became a Full-time Area Representative for Branch 38.  In 1995, Pete was elected to the office of First Vice President and held that position for seven years. When former Branch President Bruce Didriksen became a Regional Administrative Assistant for Region 15, Robert Borgognoni assumed the position of President and Pete became Executive Vice President.  With the retirement of Robert Borgognoni in January 2009, Pete became President of Branch 38.

On a personal note, Pete is happily married to his wife Linda.  They have been married for forty years and have two grown children; Peter Jr. and Jennifer.
